Flower Headband

My cousin sent me a picture of a knit headband that she saw in a store, she said it was overpriced and was wondering if I could knit her something similar. Of course I can!

Flower Headband:
Yarn: Red Heart Soft Yarn in Light Grey
Needle Size: U.S. 10 (6.0mm)
Pattern Source: Flower Headband (free Ravelry download!)

I used a button instead of a bobble for the middle of the flower. This was a really quick knit and it looks just fabulous. I would definitely do this pattern again!

Warm Knit

Just in time for the freezing cold weather:

Diamond Cable Gloces:
Yarn: Lion Brand's Vanna's Choice in Oatmeal
Needle: US 8 (5mm) DPNs
Pattern Source: Knit Simple Magazine Winter 2012/2013

I decided to do these on DPNs so I would not have to seam up the side. I love the way they turned out and they have been keeping my fingers warm in the cold weather.

Another Gift

As mentioned in a previous post, I didn't stress over the holidays about getting all my knitting done. I decided that my gift giving could continue into the new year. Here is the last gift I have made:

Leafy Lap Blanket:
Yarn: Red Heart Soft Yarn in Light Grey
Needle Size: U.S 8 (5mm)
Pattern Source: Leafy Baby Blanket (Free Ravelry Download!!)

If I was to re-do this pattern for an adult, I would add another repeat of the leaf pattern to make it wider. Other than that I absolutely love it, it turned out beautiful.

This was my first time killing acrylic. I had washed and dried the blanket, but it was still not lying nice and flat, so I took out my steamer and blasted the blanket with steam. Worked perfectly!

Still Gifting

As it happens, I didn't manage to finish all the gifts that I had wanted to make for Christmas. I just did not have the time, so I decided not to stress out and just keep giving even after the holidays were over.
This is one such gift.

Fertility Blanket:
Yarn: Loops & Threads Impeccable in Soft Taupe (4 balls)
Needle Size: U.S. 10.5 (6.5mm) circular needles

I loved the pattern when I first saw it, and thought the description the designer gave was hilarious. I am glad I was able to get it done and send it off so early into the new year!

This project had a stitch pattern that was not complicated, but I could never have memorized it, I kept the book close by while I was knitting. It kept me interested - which isn't easy to do when I am knitting a big project like this one!
The yarn felt a bit 'tough' and not as soft as I wanted it while knitting, but after I put it through the washer and dryer, it is much improved and feels so much nicer.

This was the perfect project to do over my last week of Christmas break, Loved it!

New Blog

I love blogging about my knitting adventures, but there are times when I want to write about some real girly stuff - likes clothes and make-up, and this does not feel like the place to do it. So I have made a new blog to share my other passions with the blog world. The Beauty Place is where I will be blogging about everything that is not knitting and craft related, but I will continue to maintain this blog! Feel free to check it out and leave any comments as to what you would like to see me talk about!
