My Buttons!!!

Thanks to a story that was on the Knitting Daily website. I now know how to make some custom made buttons. I'm always looking for the right button for some of my projects and I like ones that are original that you don't find everywhere. So making my own buttons was the perfect solution!!

I've made 3 batches of buttons so far and I've just been experimenting with size and color. If you want to try and make your own this is the link for the story: here

They were so fun to make and I'm so happy with the results.

I also made another knit hat that was in the new issue of Knitscene. It's called the Quantoid hat. I wish I had chosen colors that had more of a contrast (a darker blue for the main color). I ran out of the main color almost at the end of the hat and when I went back to the store where I got it from, they didn't carry that line of yarn anymore!!! So I finished the pattern with the secondary color, and the results were still good.

I've started knitting my sister's Christmas present. I really want to get a head start on my Christmas knitting so I'm not rushed to get everything done!!!

A few new FOs!!

I haven't updated this blog in a while, mostly because my recent finished projects are for a cousin's baby shower and I didn't want to spoil the surprise. I will be posting the pictures after the shower!

But in the past few days I've been having fun with some birds that are a free download from Mochimochi land and it can be found here. I love the pattern. They were so much fun to make and they turned out great! So Cute.

I also finished another stripped hat that I think turned out really great. I knitted most of it at school and just made the color combinations as I went. I used my "Shooting Stars" pattern as the basis for this hat and I used up my left-over Vanna's Choice yarn and other odds that I found in my stash. Love it!
